Street light on the Covert Cul-de-Sac

I have already spoken to all of the residents that have contacted me to express concerns about the long-running problems with the street light on the Covert, so this post is for information for those residents that have not contacted me.

I contacted the Vice-Chancellor and the Estates Manager to raise the concerns expressed by residents about the long period this light has been out of action and the lack of a street light as the winter nights are approaching. I subsequently had further discussions with the head of Estates about a time-scale for repairs.

There is currently a contractor on campus replacing electrical cables around one of the Halls of residence. Once that work if finished, the contractor will then come to the Covert to replace the faulty cables and restore power to the street light. This work will commence towards the end of October.

Residents of the Covert, please do contact me if you have any questions or queries
